Since we had Butch back off on the training after seeing that the join up wasn’t going the way Butch hoped, Butch has redirected his approach with Odin. He’s back in the gentling pen with the chute.
Do I dare say, I think Odin likes it? It seems to be a game he understands and is willing to play. Every day, whether it is Susan, myself or Butch, Odin seems to get a bit more comfortable, less reactive, and a little bit slower through the chute. He’s even beginning to take short pauses while standing in the chute now, without treats, simply in response to a cuing sigh and walking away.
It’s super cute to see Odin’s proud expression and the way he stands at attention waiting for approval and his next cue.
