Slow and Steady with Odin

Odin’s gentling journey continues at his pace. With Butch’s help, we now have two confined spaces set up to support him: a small area in the barn and an outdoor gentling pen. We’re so thrilled that Odin has been investigating both spaces on his own while we stand nearby. Both spaces give Odin the chance to get comfortable with tighter quarters while we observe nearby on the other side of the fence. Here in the smaller space he has a chance to breathe and build confidence without pressure. Our hope is that he learns that the confined space and fencing is a safe space so that we can begin to close the space off for him.

The round pen is also ready in Green Acres for when the time feels right for a join-up with Butch, but for now the focus is on quiet consistency and trust in the confined space. Every calm moment matters, and Odin is showing us that slow progress is still progress—and often the most meaningful and lasting kind.
