Well, it’s already been a week since Odin’s big move. He’s settling in remarkably well and certainly enjoying the fine living; including the grass, hay roll, shade, and new neighbors. In fact, Odin may just have a little crush on Shadowfax?! We are often finding him inside his barn where he can watch Shadowfax with her hay roll.
After we got Odin out of his barn today, we sat offering him, using the Trust Technique, a beautiful dose of the Present Moment. Part of what the Trust Technique and the Present Moment does for horses is that it helps the receiver to be more confident. Today, Odin confidently and curiously walked right up to my husband to check him out. He sniffed and stayed, waiting with those soft sweet irresistible eyes…we both knew what Odin’s expectations were. So we embarked on a new venture, Billy began working with Odin in the same manner that I do. In the following video you can hear me instructing Billy as I continue using the Trust Technique to maintain a calm environment for them to explore each other.
Slowly and cautiously, Odin’s world is expanding. He’s learning to begin to trust men again.
