We’ve introduced another Trust Technique practitioner to Odin in the past two weeks and that connection is already coming along. It’s beautiful to watch his trust expanding to others, with him accepting others into his world. Already, he’s able to stand with her and happy to receive treats from her.
Today we spent a little time sharing the present moment and then I spent time walking through his pen. Each time I took a walk through, I got closer to him and while his anxiety stepped up, with the Trust Technique we were able to help bring his mind and thoughts back down, helping him to accept movement around his pen more easily.
I also have a cute videos to share of Odin with his brush. Nope he doesn’t quite get a traditional horse grooming yet. But you’ll see, his way is still super cute.
Before we left today, we gave Odin’s pen a good cleaning. Like some children Odin is pretty attached to his poop and in the past has gotten upset when we head into his ‘bathroom’ area. He’s also a bit nervous around the shovels and rakes, etc. My walking through his pen today prepared him for the clean up. Today, he accepted the cleaning of his pen pretty well and even decided he was safe enough to eat while we cleaned.
