Learning To Be Close

For the moment we’ve left the idea of the professional trainer aside and now that Odin’s nervous system is recovering from the stress of early July, we are slowly getting back to the work at hand…a halter. We still have a long way to go, but we’re breaking it down into steps.

Today, our focus was on Odin standing still near us. The other day he worked up to being able to stand nearby for about 3 minutes. Today, because he spent a lot of time in his quiet peaceful state we only worked up to around 2 min or so. But with repetition in total he was probably at attention in fairly close proximity for 15 minutes or more.

Here’s a short clip of Odin being very patient waiting by my side. Keep in mind all of this happens as we assist him in maintaining peace of mind…of course, he gets a treat at the end, so wait for it 😃
